A beautiful and understated classical Speyside whisky. numerous examples from the 1960s and late 1950s are majestic drams ridden with fruity complexity and elegant spice flavours. The 1970s distillations could also be remarkably fruity and textured. The 1974 Manager's Choice bottling and the 1962 Celtic Heartlands are just two absolutely stand out examples. The 1980s and 1990s distillations were a little more towards the modern, sweeter style but many terrific bottlings have still emerged from these years. It remains one of the better value Speyside whiskies if you're looking to find older examples from the 1970s or 1960s as most are terrific.
